No Brain Breaks
By Ra'Chelle Carroll
Brain Breaks are breaks between two-hour classes, so they would be between reading and math.
6th grade student, Cameron Maxwell thinks that we should have Brain Breaks. She thinks it is important to take breaks so students don't have to get headaches. Cameron thinks that if students have Brain Breaks they should be able to go to the restroom, and take time off of learning and relax a little a while. She thinks the breaks should be as long as the passing periods.
6th grade student, Damya Donnell thinks that we should not have Brain Breaks. She thinks that middle school students are old enough to wait to use the restroom, they don't need breaks, and they can go on their passing periods. She thinks Brain Breaks take up learning time because some people might play when they’re supposed to be learning.
Mrs.Dorian, although she is an assistant principal now, she was once a math teacher here at Eisenhower, and she did not let her students take breaks. She feels that there are no positive things about Brain Breaks. Also, she feels that Brain Breaks are negative because they take up learning time. If she did have to have Brain Breaks she will let them be at least one minute. During the brain breaks she let her children play games that still relate to learning.
Everyone thinks differently about Brain Breaks.
